App There are many stores that offer third-party apps, but all agree that requiring the jailbreak, perhaps this is most interesting about this, which are completely written in HTML, OpenAppMkt runs in the safari browser and just requires a simple tap to adhere to the home screen … ..

First iPhone 4 only Cydia app called SpringFlash

BigBoss has announced the first iPhone 4 only Cydia app called SpringFlash.

Since the jailbreak is due very soon, I have created SpringFlash, the first iPhone 4 only Cydia app. SpringFlash is a springboard activator based LED flashlight for your iPhone 4. In short, you can have a touch of a button for a bright LED flashlight without hassling with unlocking your iPhone, closing your app, or even turning on your screen.

Once the comex jailbreak is released you will be able to install SpringFlash then go to the Settings App, Activator pane, choose the activation method of your choice and select Flashlight. “I am using short hold power, myself. It works very well.”

Hopefully, we’ll be able to try the app out soon…

Important information on the “Ninja Party” mode of your DEFCON 18 badge.

Q: What is the “Ninja Party” mode on my DEFCON 18 badge?

A: The “Ninja Party” mode is a way to “unlock” an invitation to the Ninja Party if you are given a valid unlock code. Valid unlock codes are included with every Ninja Badge. The idea is that the person with the Ninja Badge can give the unlock code to a friend, and that person can unlock their DEFCON badge, then come with them to the Ninja Party. (Your badge can be unlocked with INVALID codes by reverse-engineering the algorithm, but they most likely won’t let you into the event. Keep reading.)

Q: My badge says “locked.” How do I unlock it?

A: Valid unlock codes are included with every Ninja Badge. It is the “plus one” so Ninja badgeholders can bring a friend. All you need to do is have your friend with a Ninja Badge give you their code. Use this code to unlock your DEFCON badge. On the Ninja Party screen, press the bottom button on your DEFCON badge, and enter the tumbler sequence shown on the card. This will unlock your DEFCON badge.

Q: Can I just reverse engineer the algorithm on the badge to unlock it?

A: Yes and no. Here’s what will happen. The algorithm has TONS of codes that will actually cause the badge to read “Unlocked”. HOWEVER, only a very small fraction of these codes are actually valid for entry. We have a pre-selected database of valid codes representing a fraction of the total codes. At the event, your badge will be electronically read. If the code on your badge passes the algorithm but is *not* in our database, it won’t work. It’ll even flash a “hacked badge” message at you. :)

Q: Can I share my badge or my unlock code?

A: At the event, each code is scanned and logged. If an “unlocked” DEFCON badge is used more than once, it’ll flash a message alerting that it’s already been used. So, you probably don’t want to share your code. You certainly can do whatever you want with it, but it’ll only work once at the event. If people just want to make their badges say “Unlocked” – go nuts. :)

Q: Is there anything else in the Ninja Mode?

A: Maybe.

Huge thanks to Joe Grand for working closely with us on this implementation!

iPhone 4 Being Used To Make Porn?

This one might hurt El Jobso more than Antennagate!  According to the AP,

When Apple Inc. launched the iPhone 4 and its FaceTime videoconference feature, it didn’t take long for adult-entertainment companies to develop video-sex chat services and start hiring workers through Craigslist.

With more than 3 million of the phones already sold, the adult industry stands to make big money on this new way to reach out and touch someone — even if it puts Apple, which has always taken pains to keep its iPhone apps squeaky clean, in an awkward spot.

In at least five cities, Craigslist ads seek models specifically for video sex chat on FaceTime. Many of the ads even offer to throw in a free iPhone 4 for the new employees

Apple dropped the iChatr Chat Roulette clone (genital cam) from the App Store only after a week of availability.

Vodafone New Zealand Cancel iPhone 4 Launch

Shipping Error Causes Vodafone New Zealand to Cancel iPhone 4 Launch?
A shipping error may have caused Vodafone New Zealand to cancel its iPhone 4 launch tomorrow, according to MacRumors.
A Vodafone spokesman declined to comment and directed questions to Apple, whose representatives have not yet returned nzherald.co.nz’s calls.

But it is understood that Apple’s deal with Vodafone is off and the gadget won’t be available from New Zealand stores tomorrow, only online from Apple.

Then again, another rumour gaining ground on Twitter is that retailer JBHiFi will be selling the iPhone 4 tomorrow.
Update: We’ve heard that both Vodafone and JB Hi Fi are claiming that a “shipping error” is responsible for the cancellation of today’s launch in New Zealand.

As announced by Apple CEO Steve Jobs earlier this month and confirmed in a company press release earlier this week, Apple has begun its second round of iPhone 4 launches, bringing the device to 17 new countries. Countries in this round of launches include Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

The Sydney Morning Herald offers coverage of the launch in Australia, where a number of Apple’s carrier partners one-upped the company’s 8:00 AM retail store openings by launching the iPhone 4 at midnight local time.

iPhone 4 CAD Drawings Overlayed Onto Images of the Phone

Core77 has taken the time to overlay iPhone 4 CAD drawings provided to case manufacturers onto images of the device.

Just for you design geeks: When we learned Apple had made the CAD drawings of the iPhone exterior available for case manufacturers, we couldn’t help but overlay it, albeit somewhat messily, over the product photos to experience that twinge of joy that only a CAD jockey can feel. This took me way longer to do than I thought it would, and yet the pleasure center part of my brain was still lighting up the whole time.

Have a look below. You can download the drawings from here.

Redsn0w 0.9.5 can Jailbreak Firmware 4.1 Beta 2

If you’ve updated to 4.1beta2 on iPhone3G or iPod2G(non-MC), you can use this redsn0w from June to jailbreak. Just point it at the 4.0 IPSW (the public one, not the developer GM one).

(Yes – point it at the 4.0 IPSW even though you’re at 4.1beta2).

Don’t do this if you need the ultrasn0w carrier unlock!!

Note 1: This won’t hacktivate your iPhone3G – but for those with legit access to the 4.1beta2 this shouldn’t matter. Please don’t pirate Apple software

Note 2: If you’re at 4.1beta2 you’ll probably experience network problems after jailbreaking. Until a new version of redsn0w is released, you may need to rely on afc2 access (such as FunBox-like file browser programs) to manipulate your filesystem.

Note 3: This is recommended only for power users who can deal with the problems that will pop up as the JB apps fall further behind the beta firmwares.

Update 1:

MuscleNerd, member of the Dev-Team, has posted on his Twitter that it is possible to do the Jailbreak to IOS 4.1 beta 2 in the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G (No MC). But MuscleNerd warns that there may be a number of problems:

* No Hackactivación.
* There may be network problems after installing IOS 4.1 and do the Jailbreak.

The redsn0w Jailbreak 0.9.5 is made available on its website.

We do not recommend or install the beta or do the Jailbreak IOS, wait for the final versions.

Download iOS 4.1

Download RedSnOw
